Maccababies
Maccababies is a series of paintings based on the symbols and characters that have perpetuate a collective narrative and imagined community around Judaism. The imagery is pulled from video stills of cartoons including but not limited to Rugrats, Dr. Katz Professional Therapist, The Simpsons, and Hey Arnold! I am attracted to the paring down of violent and divisive narratives to make them more palatable, and even attractive, for children.
